Fastival Gathering And The Construction On Ethnic Group Idntification

With the advent of the tendency of cultural diversity in various nationalities caused by different cultural communication, especially in cities, people from each nationality are now trying to blend into this kind of diversity actively. In these circumstances, the Tatar is yearning to keep their own cultural value on by choosing their only festival called "Saban" to preserve their unique national character. Actually, as the basic form to maintain one culture, to keep it is similar to copy it, so, the Tatar who are from Urumqi, Tacheng and Yining celebrate the Saban Festival every year. The intelligentsias of Tatar living in cities are focusing on ethnic future more, especially at the aspect of equality of nationality, cultural continuity, national education, and national religion, etc. The Tatar in Xinjiang has built a common sense of cultural knowledge platform to communicate mutually and to enhance their sense of national pride.From the perspective of cultural anthropology, this thesis expounded the condition on ethnicity acknowledgement of the Tatar in Xinjiang with the benefit of fieldwork and documentary photography on Saban Festival. Tatar is such an ethnic group who are with strong sense of national pride for they did make great contribution to the educational business of Xinjiang by culturing many intellects. On the other hand, the Tatar made a lot of effort on organizing the Tatar language schools and establishing the Tatar cultural association to realize their belief of identity construction. Also, they applied the identity construction into action by studying from the model, by protecting on Tatar language schools and their ancestral grave, and by utilizing network technology. Valuing the cultivation of young generation and creating the opportunities for young Tatars in Xinjiang to study abroad, they run a school jointly of Kazan University of Russian Tatar Republic which not only improve the students' inner quality but also push forward the international friendship of other countries with China. From this point, the Saban Festival has made an impact on culture knowledge as well as reached the aim at ethnicity acknowledgement.
