With the new reform of mathematics curriculum, "vector teaching" which is developed during the late 19th century and the early 20th century and known for its wide applications in physics, engineering, space, structure of matter, is incorporated into the foundation courses in middle school mathematic sand has become one of the core concepts of mathematics teaching in senior high school. The vector with the dual nature of algebra and geometry is accepted into the senior high school curriculum, which has had a great impact and influence on the curriculum structure and the ways to solve the problem.This thesis first proposes the background and significance of studying vector, by studying literature review, summarizing some achievements in the course of understanding vectors and in vector teaching and providing inspiration and help for vector teaching; second, it does some research on the objectives and functions of mathematics teaching in senior high school, highlighting the important role of vectors and its role as tools; third by applying questionnaires, it masters first-hand data about students'understanding of vector after they learn it, analyzes the data and identifies problems for further analysis and thinking; finally, under the guidance of the vector study, the thesis puts forward the strategies on how to carry out vector teaching with the concepts of the new curriculum and also deals with some teaching practice in mathematics classes which combines vector with geometry and combines vector with algebra.
