Vector is one of the important concepts in modern mathematics,which can not only be regarded as the content of algebra,but also as the content of geometry.As a mathematical tool,its role in solving problems can be reflected in many aspects.The process of using vector to solve mathematical problems can help to cultivate students' thoughts of combination of number and shape,and improve their ability of "calculating and solving problems as well.Beginning with the understanding of ordinary high school mathematics curriculum standard",this paper first expounds the historical development of vector,then studies and analyzes the vector contents in high school mathematics textbooks,college entrance examination questions and mathematical contest questions Finally,on the basis of the universality and simplicity of vector mathematical tool application,through questionnaire survey to analyze the status quo of learning vector knowledge and the current teaching situation of teachers,and put forward the improvement strategy of vector knowledge teaching,the main contents are as follows:1.Introduction expounds the background of the problem,the significance of the topic,issues raised and requirements for vector learning under the high school mathematics curriculum standard.2.Introduction of vector basics.3.Vector questions in high school mathematics problem,in terms of algebra problem and geometry problem were analyzed.The study mainly introduced when and how to use vector to solve questions in inequality,value range,trigonometric function,plural,sequence of number,probability,planimetry,analytic geometry and solid geometry questions.4.Analyzing the application of vector in the mathematical competitions of senior high school,concentrating in the norm of vector,vector fundamental theorem,vector collinear theorem and vector dot product.The rules of solving problems were summed up,which will help students find quick and easy methods to solve the problems in the future.5.Through the questionnaire survey to understand the situation of learning vector of high school students and the teaching situation of teachers,and to comply with the requirements of the curriculum reform to improve the teaching of vector knowledge.As the intersection of multiple kinds of knowledge,the application of vector will make the mathematic problems simple and clear for students to solve,no matter in the thoughts or the calculation.
