The knowledge workers of Vocational and Technical College are one of the kinds of special groups. How to motivate them is not only the focus of human resource management in Vocational and Technical College, but also is the one of the decisive factors that Vocational and Technical College can develop in a healthy and stable way, and affects the realization of national human resources strategy in the long run. For a long time, because the hysteretic reform of educational system and the long-standing administration pattern in colleges, the motivation of knowledge worker in many Vocational and Technical College had some problems, such as lack of attention, single method, limited means, worse effect. Along with a new round of institution reform carrying out in an all-round way and performance pay of institution reform taking effect, how to stimulate the knowledge worker's initiative better is the focus for study and attention at present and will be so for a long time to come.The paper takes teachers in A Vocational and Technical College as the object of research. Research the characteristic of the knowledge workers, use some human resources incentive theory, reference the mature experience to motivate the knowledge workers from domestic and foreign and combine the present situation of Vocational and Technical College, Use the method of empirical analysis, On the basis of questionnaire investigation and bring up questions and suggestions on the basis of the analytic result, build motivation model of knowledge worker.According to the results of the study, the paper reaches the following conclusion: The overall contentment of the knowledge worker to each motivational factor is not high; the motivate of the college in the growth and identity respect is lacking; the design of salary system is unreasonable; the Self and competitive consciousness of the knowledge worker is not strong; the knowledge worker pay no attention to the psychic motivate factor as advance, excellent and so on ; the demographic variables of the knowledge worker has slight effect on the importance and satisfactory degree of various types of motivational factor, and there are no significant difference of the motivate effect of motivational factor on the knowledge worker of different demographic variables, and so on. At the same time, according to the results of the study, the paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions, for example: managing the career planning of the knowledge worker; establishing a scientific training system; establishing a scientific evaluation index system; establishing a perfect salary system; improving work design; strengthening the construction of system and culture; strengthening a sense of belonging and master consciousness of workers, and so on…Such, the paper can provide the theory reference of and practice direction for motivating the knowledge worker.
