Part-time faculty is an important part of teaching staff in higher vocational colleges and hiring part-time faculty is one of the main measures to improve the quality of vocational education. In recent years, although the construction of part-time faculty staff in higher vocational colleges has yielded some positive results in our county, there are still a lot of problems, such as the ill-conceived employment and management system and lack of guarantee in part-time faculty's rights. The most important reason for that is the lack of mature system. At present, hiring part-time faculty in higher vocational colleges is in the initial stage of development and is still short of an effective employment system. Therefore, how to solve the problems emerging in hiring part-time faculty and find a proper system which adapts to our country's reality have become important issues in higher vocational colleges.Following the route from realistic basis, the current situation analysis and the comparison between our country's and other countries'situation to how to construct a suitable system, this research probes into the issue of hiring part-time faculty in higher vocational colleges from the view of system review and system construction. Firstly, this thesis expounds the necessity and feasibility of hiring part-time faculty in higher vocational colleges starting from the realistic basis. Secondly, this thesis gives a summary of the current situation and problems about hiring part-time faculty in higher vocational colleges via analysing the result of questionnaire and interview. Thirdly, raising some valuable experience and methods from the comparison of America, Germany, Japan and Australia's part-time faculty employment system is another important issue of this thesis. Finally, this thesis tries its best to construct the suitable framework of part-time faculty employment system for our country. This framework covers strengthening the government's macro-control and perfecting some relevant national laws and policies, improving the enterprise's positivity and guaranteeing the source of part-time faculty, enhancing the college's internal management and making part-time faculty employment system, perfecting the part-time faculty's market and improving the talent's mobile mechanism.This thesis carries out both practical investigation and theoretical research of the theme by using literature, questionnaire, interview and comparison method, hoping to provide some useful information for the standardized and institutionalized development of part-time faculty employment system in higher vocational colleges.
