Since the implementation of new chemistry course, teaching material changes direction from the traditional "knowledge-centered" to " Students' Developmentoriented". As the change of position and function of the teaching material, the traditional idea "teach by teaching material " is taken over by the idea " teach by using teaching material". Teaching material is the most important course resources in chemistry teaching, but not the only resource. When chemistry teachers are teaching the material, they can't just read it, they should redevelop it, to make it more suitable for students' learning and teacher's teaching.The compulsory teaching material published by Jiangsu Education Press and teachers students in Shaxi High School Jiangsu province are selected as the research objects. The author of the article does research on the constructivism, postmodern curriculum view, STSE education theory. She Establishes the theoretical basis of redevelopment of teaching material. Based on the redevelopment of teaching materials, she analyses the teaching material ,class cases, and its characteristic, understand the intention of the writers, mining the implied discipline thinking. Finally she studies the three factors--- environment, the students, the teachers. Meanwhile, she analyzes the questionnaire on teachers and students'requirements and the evaluation questionnaire on the material redevelopment, reflects the problems on teaching material redevelopment, and puts forward the relevant suggestions.
