Ancient Chinese prose plays a considerable role in inheriting traditional culture and training the students'literary attainments. However, the present teaching situation of ancient Chinese prose is at a lower stage. This article first points out the situation in which students show less interest in ancient Chinese prose, the teachers'teaching concept falls behind, the teaching materials desalinate the grammar and the construe is in a dominate position. As follows, the article also probes into the source reason of current teaching situation of ancient Chinese prose. The origin is that the ancient Chinese prose itself is hard for students to understand; the students lack interest in it; the teachers'teaching ability is at a lower stage and also that the examinations are in a fixed form. In view of the existing situation above, this article also respectively probes into the change on teaching concept, the strengthening of the teachers'qualities and the optimization of learning environment. In order to promote the teaching reform of ancient Chinese prose in rural junior high schools, the author also puts forward some suggestive enforcement programs in teaching methods and teaching links.
