The basic teaching requirements under the new math curriculum have gone beyond what was called basic knowledge and basic skills as defined by the traditional education, instead, such four kinds of basic education as basic knowledge, basic skills, basic methods & strategies ,emotions, attitudes and values has been put forward. However, compared with the new requirements, vocational school mathematics teaching is far from satisfactory resulting from the fact that there are low performing students who are uninspired to participate in their education. Therefore, the writer has prepared the paper with an attempt to improve the present mathematics teaching situation in vocational schools and enable mathematics to be a door to the further specific study. The paper is divided into 5 chapters.Chapter 1: introduction. In this chapter, the paper argues the necessity and significance of the research on teaching strategies based on analyzing present vocational education development trends and how mathematics teaching is going in vocational schools.Chapter 2: Study review. In this chapter, the paper presents the theory basis of the study and sums up some effective teaching methods, strategies and models which can generate desired outcomes. Also, it gives some briefs on current research situation in the field.Chapter 3: Research methods & tools. In this chapter, the paper introduces the research methods, tools, subjects, how subjects are chosen and research conditions.Chapter 4: Outcomes & Discussion. In this chapter, the paper assumes three teaching strategies to ease the teaching difficult problems in accordance with the previous reviews and full analysis. The case study in this chapter proves that these strategies are feasible. This chapter ends up with a design schedule.Chapter 5: Suggested teaching strategies. In this chapter, the paper makes some suggestions on how teachers from vocational schools teach and how to measure teaching effectiveness. The chapter also elaborates the limitations and to-be-solved problems involved in the study.
