Today's society is moving into a knowledge-based economy, and economic competition between countries, as well as competition of comprehensive national strength has become the competition of science and technology. The improvement of the national core competitiveness and the development of society can not be separated from the science education whose core value propositions is the cultivating of the scientific literacy of citizen. Science education is an important part of basic education, and in science education, teachers not only teach students scientific knowledge and scientific method, but also cultivate the scientific attitude and spirit, and all of these lay the basic foundation for the future development of students. More importantly, as one of the important objectives of science education and scientific spirit, the formation and spread of scientific spirit is undoubtedly conducive to the elimination of the ignorant and backward ingredients of rural culture, and the realization of strategic objectives of"developing agriculture by relying on science, technology and education"as soon as possible.To understand the current situation of in-service training of rural primary school science teachers and seek solutions to these problems, the author integratedly used the questionnaire survey and interview technique to make some investigation on some science teachers in rural primary schools. The results revel: First, the in-service training schedules of the science teachers in rural primary school are more reasonable, and modes of teaching is rich; Second, training is no longer just focus on the written examination, but no following-up evaluation, and can not fully reflect the harvest of teachers training; Third, the existing training makes more emphasis on basic knowledge, and less on technology of scientific experiments, therefore, the training effect is not obvious, and can not meet the teaching practical needs of the science teachers in rural elementary school.The main cause of the problems in the current in-service training of scientific teachers in rural primary schools of Jilin can be summarized as follows: in the aspect of training subjects, the attitude of attending training of science teachers is not positive as well as serious, and their purpose is not clear; in the aspect of training institutions, their service sense is weak and the role orientation is ambiguity, the ways of training is simplex ,the different training models can not be dynamically integrated and the training system is irrational. Therefore, we should improve the quality of trainer and arrange the training curriculum felicitously on the base of the strengthening of the theoretical study of in-service teachers training and the increasing of the attention degree of functional departments of all grades, in order to ensure the steady increasing of quality of in-service training for science teachers in rural primary schools.
