This paper is guided by the new curriculum reform, through literature method geography knowledge of regional characteristic in required textbooks released by People's education press is arranged and generalized, gives a whole constitutes analysis from the regional characteristic of geographical knowledge in junior high and high school respectively. Then, combined with case analysis, discussed geographical regional characteristic in teachers' teaching process of knowledge, and excavated its role in training students' ability of values in-depth analysis from the two aspects: teacher's teaching and students' learning. Finally, it is guided by the modern education teaching theory, put forward the importance of knowledge teaching strategies under the precondition of geographical area, combined with specific examples in detail elaborated and instructions.This paper is divided into four parts:Part1: combining relevant literatures and research results, the connotation and extension of knowledge of regional research and regional teaching research are discussed in this paper. At the current research status as the starting point, this paper puts forward the background of writing and research significance.Part2: the geography knowledge of geographical characteristic in required textbooks released by People's education press on the whole are combed. Through the analysis of the junior and senior high school textbooks, geography teaching in the structure of knowledge regional characteristic is constructed. On this basis, the textbook knowledge of the relevant regional characteristic is generalized and counted, the knowledge of the presentation in the textbooks is summarized, thus obtained knowledge of regional characteristic of the teaching characteristic, lays the foundation for analysis in the teaching value.Part3: according to related case, probes into the regional characteristic the value of geography teaching. This paper argues that students can form the ability of geography from the knowledge of regional features, specifically including the following aspects: the ability of understanding regional differences, mastering regional linkages ability, the coordinated development of regional land logical reasoning ability, about regional schemes and chart reading ability, developing the student for regional causality analysis ability. Part4: the modern education teaching ideas are guided, starting from training the student to the cognitive abilities of geography, so as to give full play to regional geographic features in the role of teachers' teaching for the foothold, combined with classroom reality we propose the following four teaching strategies: stimulating interests -- for example analysis with hot issues; teachers guide students discuss analysis -- a suspect; intuitive show - map, schematic diagram analysis; using regional comparative analysis; seize dominant factor analysis.
