With the development of the new curriculum, foreign novels , regarded as the representative of the foreign culture, has received more and more attentions. Sophomore in grade two opened a special elective course called " Appreciation of Foreign Novels", this is the first time for high school Chinese teaching to introduce and learn foreign culture thematically. Previous Chinese teaching is renowned for the appreciation of classic foreign novel masterpiece, such as Maupassant's The Necklace, Chekhov In a shell, Balzac's Grandet and so on. The teaching objectives only stay in how to appreciate the character and the theme of the foreign novels. Western world values and thinkings do not create huge impact on student's mind. Therefore,"Appreciation of Foreign Novels" teaching is particularly important, and the collision of Chinese and Western culture will nourish the unique literary flower, bringing the students a unique aesthetic enjoyment.As for the teaching situation of"Appreciation of Foreign Novels ", students'reading interest does not get excited, and its unique cultural meaning in teaching is not highlighted. On the one hand, the teachers'theory system reserves behind. In the text reading, it is hard to make the appropriate choice, that is, giving priority to appreciation or giving priority to the basic topic learning. Then the teaching pattern is old and the lack of reading situation and the transfer of reading experience, to a certain extent, inhibit the cultivation of students' creative thinking, which also can't lead students really to get into the world of the novel. On the other hand, the students like to "see" novels, but don't like "learn" novels. Students like to read for entertainment, but don't like to read for classic. Unlike poetry and prose appreciation, most students'readings for the novel only stay in the plot level, not to mention different styles, genres of foreign novels? The period of psychological description in novels of stream of consciousness and the grand background in magic realism novels scared the students. And the psychological differences caused by different regions and different cultures can not be avoided. The factors and so on students kill the students'reading enthusiasm, and thus the " Appreciation of Foreign Novels" teaching has lost the largest driving force without students'participation in, which also makes the" Appreciation of Foreign Novels " become an aerial materials.Facing this kind of situation, it is necessary to study the teaching mode of"Appreciation of Foreign Novels" and improve the students' reading ability and aesthetic level. Based on the analysis of" Appreciation of Foreign Novels" course arrangement, target, and the significance of the college entrance examination, a new teaching mode is introduced, hoping to make the high school teaching effect of foreign novels realize the optimization. I intend to explore the attempt of three high school foreign novel teaching mode. First of all, I use "experience teaching method", with the students'existing perceptual experience, to open the window to the classic. Secondary, I use "situation teaching method" to enable the students to understand the characters and plots more visually and stimulate the students' experience. Thirdly, let the students grow in the activities of experience. Finally, I use the extending teaching method. Extending from curriculum to extracurriculum, I optimize the effect of teaching and realise the application of Maderine teaching in life.
