The 21st century is a century for biology, as the development of bioscience is the core of all natural science, determining the entire social development. As an experimental science, bioscience has a very high demand for experiment as well as observation. Besides, basic education which is the foundation of the entire national education is also the foundation for the development of individual or even the whole society. Therefore, the practice of experiment teaching in basic education is closely related to the cultivation of biological scientific talents and the development of future biological science.At first, through the literature and the questionnaire, this paper analyzed the requirements to biological experiments based on standard of biology course, and the carrying case of our biology experiments in the middle school nowadays, and the cause of low rate and the advice to up the rate. Then this paper analysis the biology course overview, curriculum and curriculum reform trends of Japanese by literature. Finally, this paper analyzed the similarities and differences in biology experiment design between China and Japan using comparative method.While, due to various reasons, the biology experiment courses in the middle schools in China are not satisfying. There are schools having no experiment course or not achieving good effects. According to the above situation, related persons propose a lot of opinions and suggestions, which don't work well. Japan has the same educational system and similar historical and cultural background with China, but the biological experiment course is carried out better in Japan. The main reasons to the differences are not only the examination system and pressure of entering high school, but also the rationality and reality of experiments design.The paper puts forward suggestions for biological experiment teaching in the middle schools. our suggestions are as follows: 1. Make full use of living things nearby; 2. Experiment design should be completed and reasonable ; 3. Experiment is designed to train student's experimental ability; 4.The experiment content should emphasize basis and comprehensiveness; 5.Each biology teacher should accumulate biological experiment materials in daily life; 6 .The experiment steps take on pictures.
