Because the rapid development of society leading to increase competition, the various society contradictions, and the development of multi-culturalism and multi-value, the contemporary undergraduates face tremendous mental stress, their mental health is worrying. This article primary intention lies in trying to find a mental health education method for university students, in many ways, the ideological and political education should stand in the breach.The article is divided into five parts.The first part, introduces the research's origin, purposes, status, contents, methods, significances, etc. In the period of social transformation, mental health education is a weak link in university education system as a problem becomes more prominent. In this research field, mental health education has been involved in many aspects, but there are many uncertain factors in combination of the ideological and political education and mental health education. The research methods include document analysis, contrastive analysis, system analysis, multi-crossed disciplines and case analysis.The second part, Analyzing psychological issues related to undergraduates mental health education, including knowledge education, ideas, mental health education, mental health standards, analysis of mental problems of undergraduates and the problems in higher education. Analyzing the reasons of the ignorance of mental health under the influence of traditional ideas, we suggest ideological and political education and mental health education should be brought into the education system. It's more important to unify two of them. This is the only way to cultivate high-quality talents. We believe that the mental healthy standards should include the following seven interrelated factors: normal intelligence, emotional response appropriate, favorable character, healthy personality, moderate personality development, harmonic relationship, social adaptability. Groups features of undergraduates psychological problems including: adaptability psychological problems, interpersonal relationships, emotional reflection problem, and the problem caused by employment and enrollment pressure. There are significant individual differences of psychological problems. Mental health problems of undergraduates are unclear attribution, deficient curriculum, lacking mental health education teachers. The third part, The relationship between ideological and political education and mental health education. The differences between them: starting points, educational content, teaching methods and solutions. The cognates of them: the same objective, complementary education content, mutual promoting teaching effectiveness. But the concern of mental health education is very limited in China's current ideological and political education.The fourth part, The principles of caring undergraduates mental health education. Both consideration of individuality and community principle requires educators have a full understanding and care on the individual based on the implementation of comprehensive education. In order to guarantee the correct development of undergraduates mental health, the educators should not only observe the individual student, but also implement education for all students, including solving the psychological confusion, at the same time they should provide for a rainy day. The principle of combining dominant education and recessive education. They have different status, play different roles, have their own unique specific effect, and the relationship between them is complementary. Only when they promote and support each other, the moral education and mental health development of students will be promoted, which can achieve the most effective educational results.The fifth part, The strategies and methods of undergraduates mental health education under the Ideological & Political Education. Mental health education have substantial content, harmonious interpersonal relationships, career development and academic progress of the development needs is the theme of contemporary undergraduates seeking their own development. Our research combines the human comprehensive development goals, discusses three aspects: the emotion and will training, social adaptability and interpersonal relationships, individuality and personality healthy development. Emotion and will glue "knowledge" and "action" together, spur them to achieve internal unity and dialectical development. The training methods include: using emotional infection, educating emotion with feeling; having a purpose to create situations to move student; handling undergraduates emotion events correctly; establishing correct, clear objectives; promoting self-governing; increasing frustration education and strengthening the will of tenacity. The survey shows that 91.8% college students want to be provided mental health services in the relationships. In order to cultivate healthy personality, the first thing is to establish the scientific ideals and beliefs; the second. it's necessary to take full advantage of the power from examples; in addition, The educators should grasp the person's individual differences accurately and give them enough space to develop, Based on the understanding the students can control their temperament, understanding themselves correctly in daily studying, living, working, using the positive side, while trying to overcome the negative factors, making best use of the advantages and avoid the disadvantages, becoming the masters of their own temperament. it's the only way to improve the pertinence and effectiveness of the mental health education in the ideological and political education.
