College and university students are trained with the aim to be in possession of such personalities,that they are not only morally and physically qualified,culturally and professionally informed,but also in psychologically sound conditions.A great deal of researches have shown that certain mental problems already occurred upon some female university students.The situation is incompatible with education's purposes,and might in the long run harm the mental and physical health of female students, thus lowing the entire qualifications of university and college students. Therefore,it is both an immediate urgency and a long-term necessity to attach importance on the mental health education of female university students and to build up their mental health well-being.One of the main objects of physical education resides in the improvement of public health.As society develops,it has been acknowledged that health is the combination,interaction as well as the mutual impacts of body health and mental welfare.It is an issue of common concern ranging from sports circle,medical care sectors to psychological scholars whether sports would lead to the amelioration of mental health.Research results both domestic and abroad have revealed that appropriate physical exercises do promote mental health.However,existing surveys are limited to theoretical and laboratory researches,while no specific measures of activities have taken shape.In conclusion,it is of great importance and practical value to find out main mental problems haunting female university students through summarization of and analysis from a large amount of documents and materials, and engage in thorough studies for efficient methods to benefit their mental health.The author has created and compiled a set of mental care exercises. Taking note of physical and psychological characteristics of female university students,miscellaneous elements which might be of potential effects on human minds and spirits,such as body movements,poetry,music, linguistic hints,image recollections,acupunctures,and colors,etc.,are so harmoniously coordinated and incorporated into a set of gymnastics,that active and deep influences could be brought about on mental health conditions of female university students in the process of learning and practicing it.Two rounds of experiments have been conducted on some female students from the China Youth University for Political Sciences,and practical effects of research recorded.The experiments demonstrate:I.The exercises apply well in practice. They have improved the mental health situations of female university students,and especially in cases of obsession,depression and stress, effects are noticeably positive.â…¡.Feedbacks from participants show that the exercises are compiled with originality and novelty,composed of elegant motions,accompanied by graceful music,and being easy to learn and practice, are of high accessibility.Therefore,for female university students,the exercises not only constitute a new way to improve mental health,but also function as a supplementary method for mental health consultation.
