Since 30's of the 20century,many scholars have contributed a lot of definitions for mental health,discussed the standard for mental health from different angels,and then made a variety of test scales.Since 50's and 60's, scholars have expended their researchs from mental health to mental health education and shown many methods and approachs. But these researchs almost are about normal people. There are no much more researchs about mental health and accommodation to people who are mental retardation. With social developing and advance of human civilization, the education for disabled people is very important. As one group of disabled people, mental retardation children should become people who can adapt to and independent to society through education. In the school education, they not only should get knowledge and skills, but also get mental health education. Let them adjust their mood and accept the social trials. The study probed mental health and accommdation in children with mild mental retardation aged from 10 to 16 years by the Mental Health Test and EMBU.The result shows that the main difference on mental health between normal children and mild mental retardation children is : learning anxiety, interpersonal anxiety, loneliness tendency, bodily symptom and fear tendency ect. There is very significant difference between the loneliness tendency and bodily symptom that the level of mental health of mild mental retardation children is lower than normal students'. There is other sibnificant difference between students who are set in different education situation. The performance of students in mental retardation school is better than the action of students who learn in regular classroom on every field of mental health. The level of mental health of mild retardation students who learn in regular classroom is lowest.The main cause on such result is that the system of education supporting for mild mental retardation students who learn in regular classroom is not good enough. So the study has some suggests for mental health education. The power of education should be integrated by some ways and mild retardation students should be trained in good mental trait.
