With the development of the social science and technology and economic, education has moved toward international gradually. International educational exchanges and cooperation have become frequent increasingly. The development of international education is promoted by exchanges around the world and competition with each other. The development of the country mainly depends on education. The competition and development of comprehensive national strength mainly rely on international talents. The training and competition of international talents has become the core of the internationalization of education. Training high-quality talents who have innovative spirit and power has become the focus and goals of education. However, in our traditional school education, the teacher is the authority's control. They force students to learn knowledge, and students are passive recipients. They are lack of enthusiasm and initiative to study. Traditional classroom education is boring. Students have no interest in learning. They are lack of innovation and can not adapt to society. Traditional education is clearly not suited to the requirements of the internationalization of education. It can not transport the excellent international talents to the country. So we need a new type of educational theory and methods to replace that of the traditional education. Since the 1990s, a new theory—constructivist theory has begun to replace our traditional theory of education gradually. Constructivism is an important branch of cognitive learning theory, and it's re-development of cognitive learning theory. It suggests the constructivist principles of cognitive from the height of epistemology, and it emphasizes the initiative of cognitive. Constructivist theory takes on a significant role in the theorizations and practices of the international education community. It is one of modern educational theory bases which the new turn curriculum reforms. It's a challenge to traditional educational theory. Constructivism thinks knowledge is not taught by teachers, instead, it is initiative built by students. It advocates a student-centered, and teachers are only organizers and helpers. Constructivist learning theory thinks "situation", "collaboration", "conversations" and "sense" are the four elements of a learning environment. It is proved that using constructivism to teach is an effective way in current class teaching. So we felt the need to take stock of the constructivist perspective in education and, in particular, its contribution to the development of new ways of conceiving and carrying out educational action. Constructivism is an umbrella term covering theorizations which are primarily centered on either the cognitive subject; the situated subject; or the locus of knowledge. It is not a unified or completed educational theory system. It's divided into many schools. The schools have their own characteristic, but they also have something in common. Constructivist view of knowledge, studying, teachers and students has an important role in guiding and practice. It makes the educators think and explore unceasingly. The author, as a first-line teacher of English, has a clear understanding of the status of English teaching in secondary schools. She knew the importance and practical significance of English education. She is also constantly exploring the better mode of education which adapts to today's society. In the thesis she ponders and summarizes about the effect and practice of the four elements in the constructivist learning environment design——situation, collaboration, conversation, and sense-making. She applies them in her own teaching, and she improves and enhances them continuously. She ponders and analyzes some educational examples as well in order to summarize some practical and feasible ways and experience. In this way, she hopes to find more practical and feasible ways to use the theory in teaching practice and she hopes to offer some valuable reference and experience for junior English educational work.
