The purpose of this study was to survey the basic situation of moderate to severe retarded children adaptability, we prepared moderate to severe retarded children adaptability questionnaires which are parent questionnaire,teacher questionnaire and community questionnaire. From the cognition, emotion, and behavior in the Angle of heavy mentally disabled children reflect the adaptability. We analyzed that the severe retarded children adaptability scoring average is not high reason and proposes the countermeasures about schools, parents, community, physical recovery. In order to improve the ability to adapt to mental disability children provide theoretical basis.This study soaked in previous research achievements, we prepare three copies of heavy retarded children adaptability questionnaires. The final shape each questionnaire closed-end questions and a 30 way open questions. These three questionnaires can be used as a moderate retarded children about the ability to adjust the formal questionnaire by high reliability and validity. We choose six special student's parents, teachers and students to live in a community as respondents , we find that the adaptive ability score from high exactly is cognitive others, the geographical position, social relations and social relations, polite, self-awareness, understanding others, self care, abide by rules, mood, self-esteem and self-confidence, cooperation and exchanges, commitment, conflict resolution, dealing with conflict. Three questionnaire score from high exactly is parent questionnaire, teacher questionnaire, community questionnaire.According to the results of this study, we put forward the corresponding countermeasures:Teachers should cause enough attention to moderate to severe retarded children's social, curriculum content must be in accordance with their aptitude notice contact daily life, teaching should adopt flexible teaching methods of role-playing and set up situation; Parents should note upbringing, they should build a warm, democratic and harmonious family atmosphere for mentally disabled children, parents should actively lead mentally disabled children out of the house, and they should get the psychology of "Pity -- Love - Addicted" ; Community personnel should be active invite mentally disabled children participate in community activities, and provide hardware support for mentally disabled children in the community life in order to become rehabilitation effectively complement. Finally we propose moderate mentally disabled children sports for the basic principles and basic Cornwall content.
