Children with moderate and severe mental retardation refer to those children with IQ between 54 and 25 who have passed the professional test of psychological measurement professionals.Children with moderate to severe mental retardation often have obvious brain organic damage or are accompanied by other types of damage to varying degrees,which leads to their unique characteristics and obvious characteristics in personality,behavior,will quality and other aspects.The mental health level of moderate and severe children is far behind that of normal children.Therefore,special schools are obliged to carry out mental health education for students with moderate and severe mental retardation.The development of mental health education courses is of great significance in the mental health education in special schools.With this in mind,this study conducted the following studies:Study 1:current situation of mental health education courses for children with moderate and severe mental retardation in special schools.Through the questionnaire on the development of school mental health education courses,32 teachers in jurong special education school in jiangsu province were given questionnaires,and the collected valid questionnaires were processed and analyzed.Next,32 teachers were interviewed from six aspects,including the concept of mental health education,the operation of mental health education courses,the setting of mental health education courses and the staffing of teachers for mental health education.Study 2:the research on the implementation of psychological curriculum and rehabilitation training for students with moderate and severe mental retardation.The mental health assessment scale for primary school students was used to test 30 mentally disabled students in jurong special education school twice.Students were tested once after a year in a psychology course integrated into rehabilitation training.The measurement results before and after intervention were compared.Next,based on the measurement of the pupil rating scale of mental health as a result,the analysis of scale on the basis of interview,interview object for rehabilitation teachers in our school,mtcsol psychological teacher,the teacher in charge,a total of 20 people,mainly aimed at what rehabilitation training in psychology course in contents,so as to explore the better the effect of psychological development.After analyzing the above two studies,the following conclusions can be drawn in this study:(1)Although mental health education courses for students with moderate and severe mental retardation have been offered in special schools,the curriculum system is not perfect,and there are deficiencies in curriculum setting,curriculum content,curriculum objectives and curriculum forms.Teachers engaged in the teaching of psychological courses are not strong in professional knowledge,unable to find problems in time,unable to provide psychological help for students from a professional perspective.At the same time,psychological teachers in special schools are required to master "special education professional knowledge+psychological knowledge".(2)Rehabilitation training is a characteristic course of special schools.It can make up for the physiological defects of moderate and severe students through rehabilitation training.After "rehabilitation",their mental health level will also be improved.Therefore,it is of great significance to integrate the content of rehabilitation training course and the content of mental health course in special schools.At the same time,it also puts forward new requirements for special education teachers to master "special education professional knowledge+psychological knowledge+rehabilitation training skills".
