| The development of social adaptability of mentally retarded children is of great significance to their daily learning and life,but this problem has not been paid due attention,and the relevant research is relatively lacking.Taking the social work practice of D institutions in L City as an example,this study collected data through questionnaire,observation and interview,preliminarily studied the current situation and causes of the development of social adaptability of children with intellectual disabilities and the development of social adaptability of children with intellectual disabilities,and found that the social adaptability of children with intellectual disabilities generally showed the characteristics of low overall development level.Specifically,in the process of the development of the social adaptability of the mentally retarded children,the social adaptability in mastering social norms,dealing with interpersonal relationships and emotional management of the mentally retarded children in self-regulation and control are at a low and medium level,accompanied by the lack of learning and mastering the daily etiquette norms,the lack of interpersonal communication ability and the difficulty in emotional management.The study found that the shortage of professional education resources in schools,the uneven level of rehabilitation institutions,the weak support network for community normalization,and the difficulties in implementing policies are the external environmental factors affecting the development of social adaptability of children with intellectual disabilities,while the low level of family economic income and unscientific rehabilitation concepts and methods are the internal environmental factors.Therefore,based on the needs assessment of the development of the social adaptability of the mentally retarded children,this study further carried out group activities for the development of the social adaptability of the mentally retarded children in D institutions of L City by using the group work method according to the ecosystem theory and the advantage perspective theory,in order to explore the role that the group work can play in the development of the social adaptability of the mentally retarded children.The results show that:(1)social work can solve the problem of low development level of social adaptability of mentally retarded children;(2)Social work can alleviate the difficulties and limitations of the development of social adaptability of mentally retarded children;(3)Group work can effectively intervene in the development of social adaptability of children with intellectual disabilities:first,group work can effectively promote the development of social adaptability of children with intellectual disabilities in mastering norms,interpersonal communication,self-discipline and emotional management in adjustment;Secondly,group work can build an informal support network for children with intellectual disabilities;Finally,the endogenous motivation to stimulate the self-development of social adaptability of mentally retarded children can improve the effect of intervention.Therefore,group work is effective and operable in the development of social adaptability of mentally retarded children.The reflection on this study is: due to the limitations of the research conditions,the survey samples of service objects are small,which can not fully meet individual needs,the intervention effect is lack of long-term guarantee,and the support subjects have not yet formed a joint force.The intervention effect of the development of the social adaptability of children with intellectual disabilities needs long-term and continuous exploration and intervention.Launching the linkage and coordination of different subjects should better help the social adaptability of children with intellectual disabilities achieve more sustainability Diversified development. |
