| The study was carried out to explore the adaptation of the urban elders in nursing homes, whichused the qualitative research method to acquire their own experiences. Then on the base of Moosfactor model, this study analyzed the factors which affected their adaptation with competencemodel.There were five parts to illustrate the research above:The first part was the introduction, including the background, questions, significances, the aim andthe literature reviewing. The literature reviewing was basically form the needs, problems andfactors.The second part was research method, containing the selection of method, objection, the validity,data collection and analysis, and research ethics. The study chose ten elderly as the interviewsubjects in a nursing home of Beijing to learn their adaptability.The third part was the theory, which explained the competence model and factor model form theperson-environment perspective. Based on Moos' model the study formed its own researchframework.The fourth part was the main body of this article, which firstly presented the elderly' adaptation inthe nursing home from physical, psychological and social aspects, then analyzed the adaptabilityfactors.The fifth part was the conclusion, including the summary and suggestions. The study summarizedthe adaptation of old persons in the nursing home and relative adaptability factors first, thenproposed the suggestions to help elderly to adapt better in the nursing home form perspectives offamily members and institutions. |
