Employment is the source of the people's livelihood. The employment problems must be solved practically to assure the increasingly improvement of people's living standards and the rapid development of our national economy. Faced with the current domestic employment situation, despite having a relatively optimistic one compared with the employment status of university students, those from secondary vocational schools have a low employment quality hiding behind the high employment rate with a generally low starting point and an unoptimistic future prospect. Therefore, in terms of this new situation, it is also a major issue that involves the welfare of the masses to pay attention to the employment problems of students from secondary vocational schools. This study takes students from Chengdu Railway Transportation School for example and summarizes some major characteristics of employment intentions of students from secondary vocational schools by means of questionnaire surveys into their intentions and analysis of the results. Then some principal problems existing in their employment intentions are discussed on this basis and factors which have an effect on it are analyzed. In addition, this paper proposes strategies from four aspects as the government, the school, the family and the students themselves as follows: (i) strengthening of the government's macro control over the employment of students from secondary vocational schools to help them build confidence in employment; (ii) reform of the personnel training system of secondary vocational schools; (iii) transition of family members'employment conceptions to help students build proper employment outlook; (iv) efforts of helping students to know and evaluate themselves objectively and confront the employment actively.
