The purpose of this study was to investigate the performance of number concepts between students of Ha-Ni and students of other nationalities at age of6-8,to analyze the differences between hani students and other nationality groups, and also to investigate the correlation of different variants, such as tribe and background, in children's number concepts. The study further explored the capability in predicting children's number concepts through the variables of different backgrounds.The present study based on standard testing analysis. The instrument was adapted, according to Ginsburg and Baroody's (1990) mathematical ability test, Malofeeva's children number sense test(, saco,&/me, ciancio2004) and primary school lower grade of pre-school children mathematical ability testing tools of ChenJieQi (Cen, J.Q.), and MaiKeNaMi (McNamee, g.).It also has a questionnaire for parents and interviews for teachers. The way to proceed testing was one to one, and the data were analyzed by average, percentage, t-test,one-way ANOVA.The conclusions were as followed:1. In the performance of Number Concepts, the HANI students is worse than other students of HAN-ZU and YI-ZU, especially in skills, base concept and operations. In addition, the development of the number concepts of the HANI students has internal diversity.2. the language foundation has significant influence for the HANI students' number concept level at the age of6-8. Especially in aspects of number skills, base of operations, as well as several concepts which demand on higher language skills. In concept, comparison, number ordinal number of conservation such judgement on graphics the project, the influence of the language foundation is not significant.3. Different family learning environment has significant influence for the HANI students' number concept level at the age of6-8. Through the Scheffe Post Hoc Test, the results show that the richer the family learning environment,the better the performance of students' Number Concepts.4. The education degree of parents has significant influence for the HANI students' number concept level at the age of6-8. The higher the degree of parents education, the more conducive to children's several concept development.5. The parents' career has significant influence for the HANI students' number concept level at the age of6-8.It maybe because the parents' work is good and the income is stable, they have more time and money spent on children's education.by means of the conclusions, the HANI students' number concept level at the age of6-8have two main features:dependent on imagery thinking and slower development level. The reasons of causing such a situation mainly in the following aspects:language and culture factors, the family factors and school education factors. In view of factor analysis, the author makes the following suggestions:one is based on teachers' teaching skills;the other is based on education policy.
