The traditional English teaching underlines that students master pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar language structure by learning textbooks and listening to the tape. Students lack the opportunity of practice. But modern education media greatly enriched the way of the classroom teaching, replenishing the resources of English teaching. English movie is a kind of rich English carrier. Students can contact a large variety of language through the English movie and expand their cultural vision. At the same time, students can improve the ability of using language.This paper uses the reference of foreign related research achievements to study the teaching application of English movie in junior high school. On an abroad study, some scholars claim that students should watch movie clips. Some scholars claim that students should watch the whole movie. The domestic research includes three aspects: the superiority of English movie using in English teaching, the factors of choosing English movie and the study on how to apply English movie into English teaching. This paper tries to watch the whole movie firstly, and then select fragments of English movie to study practical use of English teaching in the junior middle school.The research of English movie using in junior middle school is based on constructivism learning theory and David's communication theory. This study provides reference frame of teaching process. This study creates English movie "situation" where teachers guide students to learn. This study takes the student as the main body to conduct "cooperation" learning.The students conduct "conversation" practice in the classroom. The target of the teaching is to develop meaning construction. The study discusses how to apply English movies into the effective use of English teaching under the guidance of constructivist learning theory in junior middle school. At the same time, the study refers to David's communication theory. This paper takes teaching of English movie as a communication process. The whole teaching process is a communication circulation which between teachers and students.This study started in the first semester of2011school year for students in five middle schools (open movies in English teaching) in Shandong province Dongying city G county. This study carries on by interviewing English teachers and questionnaire. The study describes the present teaching situation of movie through teaching goal, learners' characteristics, creating situation, the acquisition relevant materials, design of classroom teaching activity, teaching management and teaching evaluation of teachers. At the same time, the study carries on by interviewing students and questionnaire. The study describes the students'status of English movie learning in English classroom through students'motivation of learning English, learning goals, creating situation, the utilization of movie resources, learning environment, cooperative learning and the evaluation of students study way.The study is based on interviewing and questionnaire to analyze problem of the English movie applying into English teaching in the junior middle school.There are some problems in English movie teaching. The goal of the teaching falsified; when teachers create situation, they omit the students'existing knowledge experience; Students lack autonomy; Teachers and students'cooperation consciousness desalinates; Evaluation is one-sided. This paper absorbs and learns ideas and experience from Constructivist learning theory and David's communication theory. The study gives some scientific and reasonable suggestions on English teaching in the junior middle school. The study suggests teacher should surmount teaching goal preset, pay attention to generative, diversity target; Create the real situation related to the topic; Students should explore and design their study independently; Advocate cooperation study, and build learning community; Establish scene, comprehensive evaluation system.
