Constructivism is a philosophy of learning which is the further development from behaviorism to cognitive theory and is objective to the objectivism.This thesis attempts to make a critical analysis of the application of the constructivism to the English objective teaching practice under the new teaching reform standard in the junior middle school from the epistemology point of view.It aims to modify the traditional teaching practices on the operational level and advocates the student-oriented teaching style which encourages the autonomous study,emphasizes the design of situations,enhances the cooperation study between the students and the teachers,and cultivates the autonomous ability of the students.It is helpful for the teachers to evaluate their teaching and follow the new course reform and fulfill the ultimate aim of the English teaching and education through this practice.
