The study on how to carry out ideological and political education through societies beganin the1990s, has become a hot research topic. Students' societies' form of organization, theactivities are very fit for their personality characteristics and developmental needs, buttraditional societies thinking of building societies as a mere college student a form of culturalactivities on campus, severely limits the play of associations function of ideological andpolitical education; Societies building mechanisms to the lack of long-term depth, managersor control too much of a society, the community has become a simple educational tool, andloss of initiative; or let go regardless of societies, as the students entertain toys, lack ofsupport, cause societies soweak, the level is difficult to improve. Europe and the United States,although there is no clear concept of the "ideological and political education", in a similarcivic education, social education, political education and moral education, societies haveplayed an important role. Societies is an important part of college life, and is an important toolto carry out quality education, societies culture is the mainstream of campus culture. Part ofthe societies of our universities also have similar characteristics, fully proved that as long aswe have reasonable positioning and scientific construction of societies, societies has theability to become a powerful weapon in the ideological and political education. From theperspective of the construction of societies, combined with the content and requirements ofUniversity's ideological and political education, the author has studied how to carry outideological and political education through societies. From the type and characteristics of thesocieties, to analyze the societies of the Ideological and Political Education in four areas, andconstraints were summarized and analyzed, focusing on research from the philosophy andmethods of construction of communities. And combine the results of foreign experience in theconstruction of communities, expect to comply with the requirements and the actual situationof China's ideological and political education.The first chapter gives the definition of societies and the content of societies'construction, and compared college societies' characteristics in China and Europe and theUnited States; second chapter the author through the understanding of ideological andpolitical education's content and purpose, combined with societies' character, analysised thefunction of the ideological and political education of societies; third chapter from theenvironmental factors of the construction of societies and the defect of societies, analysisedthe factors whict limited the play of societies' function on ideological and political education; fourth chapter from the content and requirement of ideological and political education,through the construction of societies, gave the specific method of how to play the societies'function on ideological and political education, analysised the idea of the construction ofsocieties, how to manage and guide the activity, the construction on societies' culture, and thesupport of environment factor. At last, introduced the experience of American collegesocieties' construction as an example of the developed countries' societies.
