Development Research Of Marine Transportation In The Region Around Bo Sea

Economic globalization has become an irreversible trend in the world today. Frequently international trading and rapid cargo transported growth make coastal economy a new economic growth point. As a global transportation channel, marine transportation plays a much more important role in the world on the strength of large volume and low cost. Development level of marine transportation not only mirrors the external relations of a country's economy and openness, but also to some extent reflects a country's level of economic development. As is known to all, developed country is always with a blossom marine transport industry. Now, most coastal ports in China changed itself to a well functioned logistics center from a service center which can multiply value of the goods. Region around Bo Sea, a growth pole in northern China coast, is one of China's three major economic growth poles. In such a favorable domestic economic situation, the research on what provinces in this region should do to seize the opportunity to realize rational division of labor and comprehensive cooperation and to stimulate economic development in the region and the hinterland finally is of great strategic significance.In recent years, government issued a series of marine policies and measures to strengthen the construction of Binhai New Area in Tianjin, the development of Caofeidian industrial zones in Hebe province, the development of coastal economic zone in Liaoning and the building of blue economic zones in Shandong Peninsula. Which give rise a new round opportunities for economic development of marine transport industry in the region around Bo Sea. So this paper takes the marine transportation in the region around Bo Sea as its research object. Which taken the actual situation of marine shipping and port industries in the three provinces and one city in the region of Bo Sea into consideration, and analyzed the relationship between the developments of marine economy and the marine transportation industry. It is found that marine transportation industry as a traditional pillar industry of marine economy plays a huge role in promoting the development of marine economy. Simultaneously, it makes a comparison of the marine transportation of the three provinces and one city by the using of location quotient analysis and the Shift Share method analysis. That positions the competitiveness of the respective marine transportation in the region of Bo Sea and makes an analysis of the existing problems. In the end, from the two aspects of the overall and sub-provinces this paper gives some suggestions on how to improve the quality of shipping service, build maritime ship, layout ports reasonably, launch regional comprehensive cooperation and carry out transportation energy and environment protection in order to make develop the marine transportation. This paper can be taken as a theoretical basis and decision-making reference for the marine transportation industry's development of Bo Sea region, and facilitate its competitiveness in Northeast Asia and worldwide.
