| The automotive industry has high degree of industrial linkage, the upstream of which is associated with steel, rubber, electricity, glass industry, etc.and its downstream is connected with capital and technology intensive industries,such as finance, insurance and other services,etal.. Whether the automotive industry has a long-term and healthy development is very important to national economic security and national economic development strategy'achievement, which is a strategic economic development issues. July 1,2006,China's auto tariffs dropped by 25%, which suggest that China completed its WTO commitments to tariff reduction, Small wonder, the days have belong to history,during which China's automobile industry has been protected far from external competition. With the full liberalization of China's automobile industry, the foreign strengthful auto makers have entered China's auto market and have intense competition with domestic auto companies. Compared with domestic enterprises, they have the advantage on technology and finance, which will threaten the survival of China's automotive enterprises.To make matters worse is that China's automotive industry is not in the pressure of cross God before the full liberalization of the automotive industry, then the global financial crisis happened in 2008, these will be destructive if the Chinese automotive industry could not handled properly. In this context the paper meassured and analyzed the efficiency of the automotive industry so as to find the answers to the question and improve the core competitiveness of China's automotive industry to improve their ability to resist risks.Firstly,this paper presents the research background,and discusses the research significance, ideas, content and methods. In addition, the paper defines the efficiency, compares the advantages and disadvantages of each method in efficiency research, and then we chooses the suitable method for the study. In the paper Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) methodology has been used to analyze the efficiency of China's automobile industry, besides,we elaborate the concept of DEA, the basic model and improved model in order to explain their basic principles and role. Secondly, the paper selects the evaluation sample,the related data sources and input-output indicators,and then we use DEA model to evaluate the efficiency of China's auto industry. In the paper we make empirical research for section data of 2009 only, and also make a panel-data empirical research from 2005 to 2009, so we can have a more comprehensive understanding of the condition and problems of China's auto industry.Thirdly, we make dynamic analysis of efficiency for China's auto industry with Malquist index.We can have better understanding of the overall level of technological progress and management of China's automotive industry in recent years by dynamic analysis of efficiency,and provide evidence for measures,which should be taken to solve the crisis in our auto industry. Lastly, the paper presents the conclution of empirical analysis of the efficiency of China's automobile industry, and accordingly put forward reasonable proposals. |
