| With the development of communication technology, it's the evolving trend to establish an intelligent, integrated, operationable, manageable softswitch mobile core network supporting multimedia services with IP as core network. China Unicom is not only facing challenges in network capability and security deriving from rapid mobile service diversifying and dramatic traffic booming, but under pressure of network evolution. So China Unicom has to set up a high-quality softswitch network as soon as possible. The key point for a successful long-haul softswitch network deployment project for China Unicom is whether efficient quality management schemes can be carried out successfully.Based on quality management theory, this paper deeply analyzes deployment characteristic, technical specification and marketing demand of China Unicom's long-haul softswich network. Combining specified service demand, conceived network scale, deployment requisitions of China Unicom's long-haul softswitch network, quality management measures used in each phase during network deployment are explored. Quality planning, quality control policy, and quality assurance measures to solve individualized, differentialized engineering quality control and global quality control problems are focused in this paper. As a result, quality management models that are fit for long-haul Softswitch network or similar projects are presented, which can be implemented and generalized to future projects, such as softswitch network expansion, Mobile Switching Center IP evolution, etc. This paper further verifies the important value of project quality management in communication engineering project. |
