Taking Jiangsu Yan Cheng national rare birds reserve for example, to use the remote sensing images in the year of 1992,2002,2006,2010, and the method of maximum likelihood classification are used for the classification. And then, four classification maps of remote sensing images have been got. At last, we analyze the landscape index and the influence for land use diversity with the urbanization by using the landscape software for various types of FRAGSTATS3.3. All conclusions can be summarized as:1. Paper take the method of maximum likelihood to image classification, successful research in separate areas of several types of land use, the overall accuracy could reach 95%,90% 92.5%,92.5%, the kappa coefficient is 0.8540,0.8519,0.8964,0.8101.2. The Waters, forest land, construction land, farmland, tide beaches wetlands and high woodland are the main land cover types in the Jiangsu Yan Cheng national rare birds reserve. All conclusions can be summarized as:①The waters, the forest land, the construction land, and the farming change is not big. Mainly displays in tide beaches wetland area reducing 14%, high beach area increased 11%, cultivated land area increased by 5%. Between 1992~2002, the tide beaches wetland was converted into the agricultural land and high beach, it can be inferred that the transformation of tide beaches wetland is mainly caused by artificial development.②In 2006, the land use change is not big. Farmland increased 1%, woodland increased 4%, improving the environment and the living environment and the climate. High shoal area reducing 13%, the waters area increased 7%, tide beaches wetland increased by 1%, the high interval area transforms massively into between the waters and the tide beaches wetland. During the protection area and circumjacent area human economic activities, make reserve of intensifying substantial change in the beach distribution pattern.③In 2010, the land use change is not big. Tide beaches wetlands decreased 14%, high beach increased 3%, construction land increase 10%, the others had a little change. During this period, Dafeng Port, the Sheyang port and the Wind power plant seriously affect the reserve.3. During 1992~2010 years, the research area basically also maintains take between the waters and t the tide beaches wetland as the matrix landscape characteristic. The total number of landscape plaques increased, but each kind of landscape mottling number, the area and the proportion has the different change. The entire landscape's mottling type in 2010 was more scattered than 1992, for 18 year landscape degree of fragmentation was still continuing. The number of patch increases show that the whole landscape types of heterogeneity in enhanced. Patch density increases shows that the extent of landscape fragmentation intensified.
