Mining cities are the main body of resource supply for China's modernization construction. It is essential in supporting and promoting national economical development, nevertheless, they had problems in resources, environment, resident and employment emerge at the same time. A lot of mining cities appeared prosperous, however, fake urbanization during the development. Meanwhile this urbanization is mostly at a very low quality level. One of most urgent targets of China's modernization construction is to maintain a healthy urbanization style. Therefore, It is believed that appropriate strategies for urbanization of mining cities could be indispensable for the realization of sustainable development and urbanizations of mining cities.In this study, industrial transformation is the main tactic for a healthy urbanization of mining cities. We firstly bring up the current problem of high quantity but low quality of urbanization among the mining cities. Based on the theory of industrial transformation and urbanization, the relation of them is described in the beginning of this paper. We take the typical example Fengfeng mining area in Handan City and other cities to analyze and conclude the problems and causes of urbanization. It is found out in this study that industrial transformation is the only way for a healthy development of a mining city.. We conclude our solution to the industrial transformation and its advantages for promoting the urbanization of Fengfeng mining area. Finally, we conclude the urbanization strategies based on industrial transformation of general mining cities .
