As an important part of the credit system, with the development of economy and the constant expansion of credit, trade credit has become an important means of corporate short-term financing, and is playing an increasingly important role in the national economy. Small and Medium sized enterprises in China faces many restrictions in accessing to bank loans and financing in the capital market due to its limited size, so they make full use of trade credit.In this paper, we take data during 2005-2009 of SME board as the sample, and do empirical research on trade credit from the financial situation and the regional environment. Empirical results of the financial situation and trade credit show that firm size is negative correlative with trade credit that companies provided, and significant positive correlative with trade credit that companies acquire. Liquid assets ratio is t positive correlative with trade credit companies acquire. Current assets liabilities ratio is significant negatively correlative with trade credit companies provide and acquire. Debt interest rate is significant positive correlative with trade credit companies provide and significant negatively correlative with trade credit companies acquire. Net profit of sales is significant negative correlated with trade credit companies provide. Main sales growth is significantly positively correlative with trade credit companies provide and acquire.Further research found that the regional environment takes significant effects on the trade credit of SME board. With improvement of regional finance, law and trust, small and medium'access to trade credit has increased significantly. It indicated that good financial development, legal system and higher levels of trust provide advantages of the external environment for small and medium enterprises to use trade credit.
