As China is opening-up and world economic globalization deepens, China vehicle industry liaison with global company is increasing, the communication among different departments in the projects becomes more and more critical. How to improve the communication efficiency is an urgent issue.Based on the description of the history of communication management theory, the study briefly discussed about multi-national automotive company organization and new product development procedure, analyzed the communication work done by sales department in project management. The factors constraining communication are as followings: personal role effect, un-controllable communication within company, automatic thinking, personal experience, language skills and culture difference. With help of theory of Organizational Behavioral Science, cross culture communication, team building, etc, some targeted recommendations to improve communication efficiency for multi-nation companies were put forward, which included jot rotation, strengthening team building, improving personal/team emotional intelligence, occupational education and improving languages skills etc. finally the recommendations were implemented and the effects were analyzed in the sample company.The object of this study was communication management in multi-nation automotive company, but its results are also applicable for other joint venture.
