Entering into the 21 Century, Chinese Landscape architecture industry develops quickly. The market asks for more and more quick excellent garden works from the Landscape architecture enterprises. Thus, there is a big challenge lying before the local Landscape architecture enterprises. Nowadays foreign-funded enterprises are entering Chinese market on a large scale. In order to play an important role in this market, local landscape architecture enterprises have to take their own advantages as well as to absorb advanced modern enterprise management experience. The topic of this thesis is to apply management by objectives to the management of local landscape architecture enterprises and explore ways to enhance the quality of management.This thesis briefly introduces the origination, development, importance, features and functions of management by objectives, which is one of modern enterprise management modes. After the survey, there is an analysis of status of design, engineering and nursery enterprises and a summary of main management problems of the local landscape architecture enterprises:1, Imperfect target system; 2, Lack of planning when setting goals; 3, Lack of execution; 4, Team building problem; 5, Unscientific performance evaluation; 6, Unsmooth feedback; 7 Imperfect training system; 8, Loss of responsibility led by licensing issues. The paper proposes appropriate methods and measures for each problem.1, Establish a clear target system, and put the tasks to the departments and employees.2, Improve project management, and make effective planning system for the enterprise.3, Enhance the execution ability of the enterprise, including different levels, and build up enterprise culture of execution.4, Establish a reliable team, and maximize business performance through team work.5, Build up a scientific and human performance evaluation mechanism to enhance enterprise strength through assessment.6, Build up a healthy information feedback processes to maintain the flow of information within the enterprise.7, Establish an effective mechanism for training, and make the training achievements into productive forces.8, Enhance staff responsibility through reasonable licensing.A complete case study of the reform of an enterprise management illustrates how the management by objectives helps enterprise to improve and develop. Some measures and emphasis of landscape architecture enterprises'management by objectives are given in the end of this thesis.
