Research On Issues And Solutions Of Rural-urbanization In Hunan Province

Rural urbanization is an objective law, it is the inevitable trend of economic and social development, and it is an important indicator of the county economy development. Towns play a very important role in the development of the county economy. Today urbanization has been and important means to the economy and society progress.Hunan is a large agricultural province, which has gained enormous achievements, since the opening reform, however, the level of urbanization in Hunan Province is still behind the average level of China, and lags behind industrialization and development of the entire national economy. Thus, the process of rural development, its stage, the main problems and issues, the reason and how to better smooth progress of urbanization of Hunan Province are all discussed in this paper.The paper first analyzes the overall situation of economic and social development in Hunan Province, and the five stages of its development, finally get a conclusion that Hunan Province has entered the stage of rapid development of urbanization. Then by use of the statistics data and investigation data, the paper analyzed the achievements and characters of urbanization in Hunan Province. After that, the paper analyzes the problems and its causes in the process of urbanization in Hunan Province, and finds that main issues include the level of urbanization lags behind the process of industrialization, unbalanced urban development, inadequate institutional mechanisms, extensive management, and etc. the main reason is that unreasonable industrial structure, the urban-rural gap and regional disparities. Afterwards this paper takes Yuanjiang Province as a case study; it mainly analyzes the track of urbanization development in Yuanjiang, the issues, and the experience it brings to the whole province. Finally, there are suggestions to smooth the process of the urbanization of Hunan Province, which point at its issues and causes.
