Urban villages are the inevitable results of China's rapid urbanization process, and a note worthy "social space". As the existence of urban-rural dual structure, Urban Villages become an important factor constraining the process of China's urbanization, so the transformation of urban villages will be an inevitable choice to promote the urbanization process. However, we should hold an objective attitude to the existence of China's Urban Villages.With the rapid expansion of urban space, the governments put the transformation of urban villages on the agenda. The transformation affects the sustainable of urban development, the promotion of urban function and the improvement of citizen's life level. In the transformation process, many cities gradually worked out suitable transformation models and ideas, and enrich the connotation of urban village's renovation in practice. So, how to extract general conclusions from these practices, then further improve the theory of urban villages'transformation is especially important. This paper analyses the problems of urban village with multiple disciplines perspective, through the systematical explanation of urban village'basic situations: the conditions of urban villages'generation and continuation, economic and social functions, the necessity and the plight of reform, the transformation modes ,we can get better known of the venation of urban villages'transformation. We select typical cities of China, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Xi'an and Kunming, through the summary of their experiences in urban villages reform, thus leads to the basic principles, standards and conditions to comply with .And then rise a beneficial though to China's urbanization, modernization. On the basis of useful reference to the development of other places, then further impel the sustainable development of Chinese cities.
