Logistics refers to the use of modern information technology and equipment to send goods from suppliers to receivers accurately and timely,during which quality and quantity should be ensured in this door to door service delivery model. Logistics begins with the emergence of commodity production and grows with the development of commodity production, so the logistics is an ancient traditional economic activity. Logistics activities are one of the most basic human social and economic activities, which emerges as a later industry but it develops very fast. Modern logistics, as a advanced organization mode and management technology, is widely considered to be companies'third source of profit in the reduction of material consumption and increase of labor productivity.This paper main discusses three parts. Part one discusses the origins of the concept of modern logistics and the characteristics of different types of modern logistics and their developing trends. Part tow for based on the above discussion, this paper analyses the governments'responsibilities in the development of China's logistics industry This article also compares the foreign countries'successful experience in the development of modern logistics. And third part , Then it points out the detailed measures and polices of the development of in China's logistics enterprises:Firstly, the government should lay down the region's overall planning and policies in logistics. Secondly, the government should establish the laws and regulations system to improve the management of logistics. Thirdly, the government should strengthen the coordination of the development of modern logistics industry and management as well as the development of logistics and personnel training to create a good environment. All the measures mentioned above are significant in the future development of China's logistics industry.
