Consumerism From The Perspective Of Ideological And Political Education

Consumerism is an excessive pursuit and respects for material possessions and its fundamental purpose as a way of life and life values. Although consumerism into our country and the time is not long, but it is increasingly influenced. Normal consumption can promote economic development and improve people's living standards, but consumerism has contributed to increased prevalence of hedonistic values, contributed to the utilitarian social climate, the environment and further exacerbates the crisis and ecological imbalance. It not only will our legacy of moral impact on our pursuit of digestion generated a positive meaning of life, but also may become the starting point for the peaceful evolution of capitalism. Therefore, the study produced the cultural roots of consumerism and the nature and characteristics of consumerism, for a correct understanding of consumerism, an accurate assessment of the impact of consumerism and the possible challenges; the concept of consumption that we need to establish is of great theoretical and practical significance.Today, we discuss the crisis caused by consumerism, not to abolish consumer, not to deny people enjoying the reasonable material need, not to for human return to the wild times, but to correct the excessive pursuit of pleasure, one-sided love vanity, squandering of resources and serious errors in the values of consumerism and lifestyle, to help people build healthy, sustainable and rational concept of consumption. We advocate the concept of rational consumer should be built on the basis of socialist advanced culture, the positive meaning of life, the consumption ethic can give the protection.
