Yunnan Regional Economic Growth Differences Research

The study on disparities of regional economic growth of China was done mostly among the east, midland and the west belt or among different provinces, and the study on provincial disparities of regional economic growth, especially the province in the west China, was not almost done in theory. The study on provincial disparities of regional economic growth in the west was very significative to promoting the holistic and harmonious development of regional economy in the west and shortening provincial economic gap.Firstly, based on the introduction of background of study, review, conception definition, contents and methods, the development theory of regional economy growth was concluded and summarized, and the calculation methods of the disparities of regional economic growth and the decomposition methods were analyzed and compared in this thesis.Secondly, this paper used of many methods of measurement, using of the per capital gross domestic product of 16 prefecture-level city in Yunnan province from 1999 to 2009, the evolution law of the disparity of regional economic growth in Yunnan province was studied from the static and dynamic two different views. The conclusion is as follows:the absolute difference of regional economic growth in Yunnan province shows an enlarging trend, the relative difference is shortening gradually.Thirdly, the construction of the disparities of regional economic growth in Yunnan province was analyzed in this thesis. The per capita gross domestic product was analyzed with the Gini coefficient in the light of industrial structure. The conclusion is as follows: secondary industry and tertiary industry are the main influencing factors for the holistic disparities of regional economic growth in Yunnan, but the effects of secondary industry influences to the holistic disparities have narrowed, the effects of tertiary industry show a rising trend, and the effects of primary industry influences to the holistic disparities are rarely. The per capita gross domestic product was analyzed with the Theil coefficient in the light of industrial structure. The conclusion is as follows:the disparities between belts play the leading roles to the holistic disparities, and they are upward trends in recent years. In the disparities inside belt, the disparities of central Yunnan influence to the holistic disparities are shortening gradually, but they have been second only to the disparities between belts.Fourthly, the disparities of regional economic growth in Yunnan province were studied from the perspective of economic development efficiency in this thesis. We used the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method to analyze the comprehensive efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of regional economy development in Yunnan province, and carried on projecting analysis on invalid 12 prefecture-level city from 1999 to 2009, the conclusion is as follows:generally, the comprehensive efficiency of regional economy development in Yunnan province is low, but the comprehensive efficiency of central Yunnan is relatively high, and the scale efficiency higher than the pure technical efficiency in many areas of Yunnan. There are deficiencies of output on invalid 12 prefecture-level city, also the redundancy of manpower input is bigger in many areas, and there is no redundant in capital input. Finally, the model of Tobit was used to analyse the influencing factors of efficiency, the results show that industrial structure and location are the main influencing factors of regional economic efficiency growth.Fifthly, based on the above study, some policy suggestion and the conclusion of advancing the regional coordination development in Yunnan province are given.
