Research On Evaluation And Utilization Of Cultural Tourism Resources In Gaochun County

Abstract:Tourism, basically a cultural activity, is the starting and finish points to the tourists. It's the focus of the interests'attraction. Only with the involvement of culture into tour planning and specific activities can we call it real tourism. With the development of international tourism industry, cultural tourism has been playing a more and more important role and has become the tourism highlight in the 21st century. Currently, tourism industry in China is transforming slowly. The demand to combine culture and tourism is becoming bigger. Accordingly, there are more and more studies on how to explore and develop cultural tourism resources, which is also put great importance during its practice in regional tourism. Gaochun county, rich in tourism resources, is a provincial historical culture city with abundant folk culture. It has distinctive farming culture, peculiar ancient residential architecture, which has a high reputation and a long-record religious culture. It also has one fourth of Nanjing's total intangible cultural heritage, and thus it has a potential for tourism development. It is significant to study how to make good use of these cultural resources and convert the potential value into real products during the development of its tourism industry.This paper generalizes Gaochun County's cultural tourism resources and based on the categories of cultural tourism resources, evaluates Gaochun County's cultural tourism resources on the levels of rank and the whole in terms of layer-analysis method. It further analyses the current situation of Gaochun County's cultural tourism resources and the existing problems, then the solutions to the problems are suggested, which is hoped to do good to the development of Gaochun County's tourism industry.This paper consists of five parts. The first part is an introduction. It briefly talks about the background, significance and methods of the study.The second part reviews relevant theories of cultural tourism both at home and abroad, including types, evaluation and utilization of cultural tourism resources, and gives related definitions including cultural tourism and cultural tourism resources. Concerning the related definitions, the emphasis is put on "tourism" and "culture", the relations and the differences between the two are analysed. And then, the definitions of "cultural tourism'and "cultural tourism resources" are given. The studies on the types, evaluation and utilization of cultural tourism resources in the world of theory are reviewed in this part, too.The thied part first introduces the current situation of Gaochun County's cultural tourism, and then analyzes the types of Gaochun cultural tourism resources, and finally evaluates Gaochun County's cultural tourism resources on the levels of rank and the whole in terms of layer-analysis method.The fourth part analyses the current situation of utilization of Gaochun County's cultural tourism resources and makes a conclusion that Gaochun is a historical cultural city with brilliant history culture, simple residential architecture, ancient folk culture, deep religious culture and green farming culture. Some problems such as low utilization rate, lack of unique tourism products and good cultural tourism lines and backward product development of cultural tourism are put forward.The fifth part gives some solutions such as location based on cultural tourism, using different utilization strategies according to different cultural tourism resources, determining good tourism programs, planning cultural tourism test lines, developing tourism products using cultural elements and innovating the popularizing methods of cultural tourism.With limited data, this paper does not compare the utilization of cultural tourism resources between different regions.
