A Study On Optimization Of The Supply Chain Management Of TD Highway Construction Limited Company

In recent years, the wide and successful use of Supply Chain Management in the manufacturing enterprises has inspired the management and researchers in the building industry to apply it to the construction enterprises in this field when they have suffered from the pressure of costs within the enterprise and the fierce external competition. However, the application of this management mode in construction enterprises is still on the first stage so a lot of problems arise in the process. TD Highway Construction Limited Company is one of the general contracting enterprises in the field of highway construction enterprises in China and there are many problems in the application of Supply Chain Management in the company, which are also very common problems in other construction enterprises in China.This thesis conducts a case study of TD Highway Construction Limited Company, starting with the study on the problems that exist in the supply chain of the company. It straightens out the core business in the internal link of production of the supply chain and it also carries out a thorough optimization study on how to choose suppliers in the external procurement process. Furthermore, the thesis puts forward the strategies and suggestions to optimize the Supply Chain Management and precautionary measures. In terms of the study of the development condition of TD, the existing problems in the supply chain management and the internal and external situations of the company, SWOT is applied to analyze the necessity and significance of establishing the strategic partnership between TD as a core enterprise and its suppliers and buyers in its Supply Chain Management. Through the analysis of some factors such as the strategies to optimize the subcontracting system of businesses and the system of choosing suppliers, the thesis thoroughly puts forward a decision making system of subcontract of businesses in construction enterprises and a standard selecting system of suppliers and subcontractors, thus ensuring the effective application of Supply Chain Management in the company.TD Highway Construction Limited Company is a typical example of so many construction enterprises in China; therefore, the author hopes that this thesis can help the management of construction enterprises in China with their problems on the application of Supply Chain Management to increase their general competitiveness through a case study on optimization of Supply Chain Management.
