Research On Shanghai Industrial Structure

In this paper, the FDI theory, industrial structure adjustment theory and the impact of FDI on industrial structure adjustment related theory are respectively addressed; meanwhile, the relation between FDI input and industrial structure of Shanghai, set as the research objective, is analyzed and proved.First, the dissertation introduces theories about FDI and industrial restructuring, and then analyzes the present situation of FDI and industrial structure in Shanghai.In addition on the basis of theoretical research about FDI and industrial structure, the dissertation makes an empirical research between FDI and industrial structure takes Shanghai as the research objective. In the first place, in the correlation analysis between FDI and industrial structure, using the Granger causality tests, concludes that both in the Secondary Industry and in the Tertiary Industry changes in the FDI can lead to changes of industrial structure in Shanghai. However, in Shanghai, changes of FDI input were not the cause of its changes in industrial structure. In addition, the dissertation analyzes the role that industrial structure changes played in economic growth. Also the dissertation summarizes both those factors that influence the changes of industrial structure and in which ways the FDI affect the industrial structure changes. And then, in the distributed lag model, quantifies the effects that the FDI have on industrial structure.Finally, in the empirical analysis of industrial structure affected by FDI input, as a factor that affects industrial restructuring, FDI has positive effect on secondary industry, and has negative effect on tertiary industry in the regression model.
