Investment,consumption and net exports are very important for economic development. In essence, investment is caused by consumption, it is depended on consumption. Therefore, the research of consumption has positive meaning for economic development.This paper reviews the relative literatures of both abroad and domestic that use ELES model for empirical research. Basic on the consumption data grouping by income level of three provinces in Northeast China urban residents from 2000 to 2009, use ELES model for empirical research, by analysis the marginal propensity to consume,basic consumption demand,income elasticity of demand and price elasticity of demand of food,clothing,household facilities and articles,medicine and medical articles,means of transportation and communication,recreation, education and culture articles,residence and services, get the change trend of consumption of urban residents of three provinces in Northeast China province in recently ten years.This paper also use the data grouping by income level of three provinces in Northeast China,Jilin and Liaoning in 2009 for empirical research, and also analysis the marginal propensity to consume,basic consumption demand,income elasticity of demand and price elasticity of demand of the eight articles, by comparative analysis of the three provinces, we can get a comprehensive understanding of consumption structure of Three provinces in Northeast China.Basic on the analysis above, we can get characteristic of consumption structure of three provinces in Northeast China, come to conclusion and give some suggestions. It is good for optimizing consumption structure of residents, improving standing of living, promoting economic development.
