Eastern Provinces And Cities' Urban Residents Consumption Level And Consumption Structure Provincial Differences Research

Since reformation and opening,China's economy has made outstanding results,but there are some problems,the gap between rich and poor has widened among the different areas,the different industries and the different groups.Coming with the increase of residents' overall level of consumption,consumption of provincial differences are also increasingly prominent,So the economic development of the provincialconsumer differences are worth of further research.The eastern region is relatively developed in our country,internal consumption differences between provinces also need to attach great importance,excessive consumption against the development of regional economy as a whole.Urban residents as the main consumer,the consumption characteristics play a strong window and exemplary role.By studying the eastern urban residents' consumption level and consumption structure difference,this is contribute to understand the regional consumption gap,achieve coordinated development of regional economic,keep the important role in the regional overall competitiveness.Therefore,this article regards the eastern urban residents of our country as the research object,on the basis of the brief analysis of the eastern provinces' urban residents' consumption level difference;mainly analyze the provincial differences of consumption structure.(1)Research on consumption level of provincial differences.First of all,based on the standard deviation and coefficient of variation index in single index system,this text analyzes the law of development its regional differences during 2001-2014;secondly,using the factor analysis method of comprehensive index system,the text discusses the eastern provinces urban residents in 2014 comprehensive consumption level difference.(2)the analysis of consumption structure on a provincial difference.Firstly based on generalized entropy,equilibrium degree and dominance index calculations the eastern provinces of urban residents in the consumption quality during 2001-2014,and based on the variation coefficient index,analysis the evolution trend of consumption quality differences;Then by building the ELES model based on cross sectional data,analyzed the eastern provinces in 2014 urban residents' consumption structure difference affected by income,price changes.Through the two aspects of the study,the aim is to tap the low level of consumption provinces urban residents' consumption potential,narrow the regional gap.The results show that:(1)the eastern provinces urban residents'consumption level relative difference in overall is down in the period 2001-2014,but the relative difference value shows the law that irregular peaks and troughs appears alternately.The eastern provinces of urban residents,in accordance with the comprehensive factor score sorting is:Beijing,Shanghai,Zhejiang,Hainan,Guangdong,Jiangsu,Fujian,Tianjin,Liaoning,Shandong,Hebei,the ranking clearly shows the relative position of urban residents consumption level of provinces in the eastern region.(2)2001-2014,the eastern provinces urban resident's consumption quality differences show the stability characteristics.The variation coefficient change range is small,limited to between 2.5%to 3.5%,the variation coefficient maximum value appeared in 2005,is 3.34%,the minimum of 2.56%in 2003.(3)In the eastern provinces,town residents' consumption structure affected by income change showed the phenomenon of convergence and heterogeneity.Convergence is embodied in the eastern provinces of urban residents in food,clothing,household appliances and services,health care and so on,these are lack of elasticity;the residence,and other aspects of goods and services are elastic.At the aspect of heterogeneity,Hainan,Liaoning,Guangdong,Jiangsu in the traffic communication show a lack of flexibility,other provinces for elastic;Hainan,Shandong,Fujian,Guangdong and Zhejiang in the aspect of cultural and educational entertainment for elastic,other provinces are characterized by a lack of flexibility.(4)In the eastern provinces,town residents' consumption structure influenced by price changes show the convergence.The living and other goods and services,the eastern provinces of urban residents' the price elasticity of absolute value is greater than 1,for elastic;the price elasticity of absolute value of the food,clothing,household equipment,health care products and services,transportation,communication,cultural and educational entertainment since is less than 1,the lack of flexibility.Finally,in view of the above research conclusion,this paper puts forward some suggestions that how to improve the overall regional competitiveness,in order to speed up urban residents share reform efforts to offer help.
