Agriculture, basic industries in the nation, is the national economic development and social stability, food production is the most important agricultural production. After our country acceded to WTO. grain production suffered enormous impact.Especially since the financial crisis, further stimulate our thinking on grain production safety with food prices rising sharply. Since 2004, the central government has seriality issued seven document No.1 about rural work. Total factor productivity growth of grain production have mainly two parts, respectively technological progress and technical efficiency. Throughout the history of the development of grain production, technological progress has always been an important source of power of its development.Chain must adhere to the intensive development path to achieve sustainable development of grain production. In addition to the technological advances have continued, but also need to improve technical efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to study China's grain production and technological progress and technical efficiency levels.According to the induced innovation hypothesis proposed by Hayami & Ruttan (1985),grain production technology can be broadly categorized into two types based on its functional characteristics:namely biological or biochemical (BC) technologies, and mechanical or machinery (M) technologies. This paper has been carried out depthly analysis about patterns and trends in technological progress and the factors affecting technical efficiency of the three major grains of rice, wheat and corn. In the systematic analysis of China's grain production on total factor productivity issues and analysis, based on panel data is based on separable Cobb-Douglas production function (SCD) quantitative analysis of three major crops of wheat, rice, corn, bio-Chemical Technology (BC) and Mechanical Technology (M), and study of these two technology trends and regional differences, using stochastic frontier analysis are two techniques of calculating the level of technical efficiency, and take the model from a regional perspective of quantitative analysis using panel Two factors affecting technical efficiency. Evidence of China's rice and wheat reached slowly mechanical technology progress, only a small corn advances in mechanical technology. China's food grain production in total factor productivity contribution of major technological advances from biochemical.and uneven development of biochemical technology. From the analysis of technical efficiency derived three kinds of mechanical technical efficiency of food crops are declining, but for the biochemical techniques for efficiency, the rise of rice and corn and wheat declined. This paper is structured as follows:The first chapter is the introduction, noting that the topics of this article basis and literature review, and gives ideas and methods of this study; The second chapter is China's agricultural development and food production capacity status, giving the importance of our food security and agricultural development problems; The third chapter is the development of technological advances in agriculture and pattern analysis, first, the meaning technological advances in agriculture is given, and then introduced the theory of induced technological advances in agriculture, and finally introduced the measure of technological advances in agriculture methods and empirical analysis; The fourth chapter analyzes the efficiency of agricultural technology, first, the meaning of the efficiency of agricultural technology is given, and then introduce methods and measure the efficiency of decomposition of total factor productivity; The fifth chapter empirical analysis factors affecting the efficiency of agricultural technology; The sixth chapter is a summary of policy recommendations, and pointed out the characteristics of writing this article and inadequacies.
