The steel industry is one of the backbone industries in the entire national economy, making outstanding contribution for the entire national economy construction, and its importance is evident. With the development of economic globalization, the competition is fierce increasingly in the international Steel and Iron Company. The talent, as a kind of strategic resources, is particularly important to improve our country the Steel and Iron Company's core competitiveness and enhance international competitiveness. The performance evaluation of management about the personnel in a company is proper or not will decide the steel and iron enterprises whether have the core competitiveness that can't be mimicked to success.·In this article, we set economic globalization and the reality about the development of our nation's steel and iron industry as the background and set the listed steel company senior management personnel as the research object, to systematically study listed steel and iron company senior management personnel performance evaluation according to the ideas of the system of "the whole to the local" based on the systematic review of the performance evaluation theory and research progress of the method.First of all, this article systematically analysis the general situation of the development of performance evaluation of the listed steel and iron company according to the listed steel and iron company's annual report, enterprise social responsibility report and the company's regulations.Second, this article points out the defects of the performance evaluation currently on the base of analyzing the listed steel and iron company's performance evaluation. Third, it constructs the senior management personnel performance evaluation system of the listed steel and iron company combined with the condition of the development of market economy and the overall planning of national economic development based on the existing research theory results. The system designs and evaluates from the quality and ability, financial, operation and internal management four latitudes based on key index method. Forth, it validates the reliability and maneuverability about the senior management personnel performance evaluation system of the listed steel and iron company according to referencing actual cases.This article always adheres to the method of the combination of theory and practice, aims to make performance appraisal of the listed steel and iron company's senior management personnel adapt to the major policies of the state and the economic development through research. It aims to enhance the core competitiveness of the whole steel industry through establishing a proper performance evaluation system, improving the science level of the senior management personnel's performance evaluation, raising the core competitiveness of the listed steel and iron company gradually.
