Reform is the force of development, and innovation is the source of development. In recent years, with the gradual improvement of the financial market and the intensified competitive environment the bank sector has made a gradual decline in the results. The large foreign bank, especially, makes the development of the domestic banks more difficult. So, how to ensure the sustainable development of the bank sector and enhance the results has become an urgent problem. Therefore, more and more banks have found the importance of the reform and the bank has begun to try different ways of reforms to promote development. This article is based on the current situation and problems of joint-stock banks, and then it explores the reform and innovation for joint-stock banks. Since there are some problems in the development of joint-stock banks, it is necessary to reform and innovation. From the practical problems, the article studies the example of the division reform of Minsheng bank at first, and then discuss the related theories of division reform. Then the article discusses the measures and effectiveness. However, there are other problems in joint-stock banks, so the article explores other ways of reform and innovation according to the relevant theories. I hope it may give some references to the joint-stock banks. As the current development and operating conditions of joint-stock banks, each bank suffers different and special conditions. Only one approach can not solve all of the problems. Although the overall innovation is the trend for the banking, the joint-stock banks can not take the same model of innovation. So the article proposes that the joint-stock banks should reform and innovate in different ways according to their special situation and problems, but they can not copy the reform and innovation ways of other banks.
