In our country, Textile industry has been established early in the complete and independent industrial base which has been the backbone of China's traditional industries for decades and with the advantages of labor and natural resources, shows prominent competitiveness in international trade. However, China's textile and garment industry is not so strong as we thought, in the context of economic globalization, the textile industry in developed countries has been growing from labor-(?) capital-and technology-intensive, when our textile industry still in the (?) value-added sectors of the value chain.The knowledge economy which has replaced the industrial economy becomes the major trend of the times. Currently, the importance of technology and knowledge factors are gradually replacing labor, capital and other traditional production factors, the huge output and prospect of knowledge-intensive technology industry emphasis the essential role of "intellectual capital" in developing competitiveness. The traditional industries restructuring and upgrading is imminent. Planning framework for the revitalization of the textile industry emphasize the necessity of technological innovation to promote industrial upgrading, besides the source of innovative proceed from intellectual capital investment, based on the acquaintance above, this paper will analyze the approach and impact of intellectual capital toward textile industry upgrading, as for providing solutions in the developing of China's textile industry.The thoughts are organized as follow:The first is the overview of both intellectual capital theory and the theory of industrial upgrading, which as the foundation of the following theoretical analysis and empirical analysis; then to analysis the mechanism of intellectual capital towards the textile industry upgrading, which are respectively from the exterior and interior of the industry. The next two Chapters consisted of quantitative research demonstrate research hypothesis. The results shows that:(1) Intellectual capitals act positive and long-term effects in promoting the textile industry development; (2) The promoting effects for industry value-added operated by intellectual capitals are less than the traditional factors of production; (3) intellectual capital performs less efficient and show a downward trend; (4) human capital and structural capital play a significant role in improving enterprise value growth.
