Since reform and opening-up in our country, private enterprises of mold industry have experienced a rapidly development. However, the period of life of these private enterprises was unexpected shorter due to some reasons. Especially for small mold enterprises, the rate of washing out is always keeping high level because of lower industry accessing barriers. One reason which caused this phenomenon is organization's lower core competence and managers' weak realization of cultivating core competence. In order to solve this problem, this paper made an elementary study on core competence of small mold enterprises. Hopefully, it can bring enlightenment to mold corporations.Based on theories of core competence and customer value, by using methods of documentary analysis, quantitative&qualitative analysis and case survey, the article made an investigation on how to construct core competence about SanTong precise mold enterprise.Firstly, the author listed theoretic achievements of predecessors in the field of core competence, and derived the conclusion that enterprise core competence comes from enterprise core technical capability, inner supporting system and team study capability. Then based on the frame of this theory, an analysis was made upon SanTong's current competence situation. After that, oriented by the theory of customer value, a model of SanTong's core competence evaluation and identification was constructed. After revealing SanTong's problems in management, a brief summary was made, which analyzed its external and internal circumstance in respect of construction of core competence. At last, a conclusion is deduced on how to cultivate and promote the enterprise core competence, which includes enhancing core technology capability, optimizing managerial procedure and building study organization.
