Strategy Research On Building A District International Shipping Center In Fangcheng Port

Fangchenggang City is located in the core district of the Guangxi Beibu Gulf economic zone. The city has been included in the development strategy in China and is blessed with advantages in the cooperation between China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and Pan Beibu Gulf District. The200K Tons Wharf, which is specially designed for discharging iron ore, has been modernized most highly along the coastal Southwest China. Fangcheng Port is the biggest port in West China and one of the twelve main hub ports in China. To make Fangcheng Port become the international shipping center in Pan Beibu Gulf District and a great modernized and internationalized shipping port, we must think courageously, prove it carefully, and develop a leap-type and leading-developed strategy according to the requirement of the Scientific Outlook on Development.Firstly, this thesis introduces the basic concept of "the international shipping center", and summarizes fundamental theories and research achievements of the international shipping center in a systemic way to academically expound and acquaint with "the international shipping center". And then we analyze the external and internal environment for building a district international shipping center in Fangcheng Port, compare and evaluate them objectively. Aftering bonding with the actual status of Fangcheng Port, we make use of SWOT method to analyze the construction of the district international shipping center in Fangcheng Port and the feasibility of it, and choose strategies which are suitable for it. And then by dissecting the basic mode of the international shipping center and analyzing the actual status of Fangcheng Port, the thesis searches for a mode suitable for the construction of the district international shipping center in Fangcheng Port. At the end, the thesis proposes the strategic developing target of establishing an international shipping center in Fangcheng Port and formulates corresponding countermeasures against development. Therefore, we can conclude that Fangcheng Port can be and should be a district international shipping center.However, there is a long way to go to be a real district international shipping center. Fangcheng Port should meet the requirement of the fourth generation port and the district international shipping center to make a plan by high standards and in advance, and to achieve spanning development in all aspects and improve fame. Fangcheng Port should give priority to talented people, make science and technology play a leading role and make policies as a guarantee to try to realize Port-City's integration in a short time and build herself as a real district international shipping center in Pan Beibu Gulf. The construction and development of it is a new subject, and it is the problem that Qinzhou and Beihai may meet with on the construction of the shipping center in the future.
