The Development And Coping Strategy Of Multinational Corporation's Patent Strategy

Patent strategy is one of modern enterprise intellectual property strategy forms as well as a key part of a company developing strategy. The patent strategy is made to achieve the goal of long-run development and permanent interest, to guide the direction in the competition of economic and science area. It makes great contribution to the IP protection, staff innovation and company development. It is widely recognized that patent strategy is of much importance in keeping competition edge in the process of patent research and application.With the development of trade globalization and technology as well as the world market, the increasing number of international companies switch their focus on the protection of IP, include patent. The international companies, who play a key role in the global tech-transaction, dramatically increase applications for new patent, which extend the function of patent in protecting new investment and new technology, enable the company to take further advantage over others in the relevant market. Due to the complex environment of international market competition, more and more international companies choose to survive both in the competition and cooperation when they join the patent competition and consider the patent strategy much more mechanized.After the entry of WTO, more and more companies take pare in the world market, besides, the career of patent in China also harvest a lot in building IP protection law and running system in the frame of international rules and our current situation. However, we still have a long way to go around the patent competition with other international companies in the area such as the rules controlling,patent strategy practicing.Thus, how to make some break in the practice of using patent strategy becomes should be given much greater notice to study.This paper consists five chapters. In chapter one, it shows the background of the topic and current study as well as the created points and short points. In chapter two, it shows the theory of patent strategy. In charter three, it discusses the selected international companies'patent strategy using, in further study, it introduces an advantage form of patent strategy, patent alliance and give deeper study about it. In charter four, it is about the analysis of foreign company using patent strategy status in China, making four conclusions about the features that foreign company using patent strategy in China, in addition, the main impacts from foreign company patent strategy on China is explained as well. In chapter five, it provides several pieces of constructive suggestion from the point of government and enterprises which will be of great help to meet the current situation and win the battle of patent strategy competition.
